‘117th year of excellence and wisdom’: PUP Commences Annual Academic Contests

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines launched this year’s academic competitions remotely from September 27-30 via Zoom, as part of the University’s 117th founding anniversary celebrations themed, “PUP sa Ikaisandaan at Labimpitong Taon: Pagbubuklud-buklod Tungo sa Pagsulong ng Sintang Paaralan sa Gitna ng Pandemya.”

The three-day event exhibited the excellence of PUPians from different branches, campuses, and colleges in 13 individual category contests. It prides itself to “establish and prosper the students through wit, ingenuity, and hard work” in honor of the University. 

The following contestants are the hailed victors in each category:

Spelling Quiz Bee

OVERALL CHAMPION OF THE 2021 UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC CONTESTS

Overall Champion: College of Engineering

Overall 1st runner-up: College of Social Sciences and Development

Overall 2nd runner-up: College of Accountancy and Finance

The champion in every category will receive a gold medal, certificate, and PHP 2,000; the first runner-up will obtain a silver medal, certificate, and PHP 1,500; and finally, the second runner-up will get a bronze medal, certificate, and PHP 1,000.

For the overall championship rewards: PHP 50,000 and a certificate will be awarded to the champion; PHP 30,000 and a certificate for the first runner-up and; PHP 20,000 and a certificate for the second runner-up.
